Leon and Mayo Boyce celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary Sept. 23 at their home at Isle of Wight in Midway.

They were married in 1953 in Douglas and traveled with the military until 1966, when Leon was assigned to Fort Stewart.

Since then, they have made Liberty County their home. Mayo retired from civil service at Fort Stewart, and Leon retired with 21 years in the Army and then again after 21 years with the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

They raised two sons and a daughter and enjoy their time with six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
