Carter, Baker to wed in May

F. Todd Baker and Sara Thompson Baker of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Hannah Frances Baker of Washington, D.C., to Brian Trevor Carter of Washington, D.C., son of Rodney L. Carter of Gum Branch and Marion M. Carter of Hinesville.
The bride-elect earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology with minor in anthropology from the University of Georgia-Athens in May 2008.  She works as an assistant project manager at Henninger Media Services in Washington, D.C.
The bride-elect’s paternal grandparents are the late Francis Walker Baker of Tomah, Wis.; the late Frances Darling Baker; and Irene M. Baker of Tomah, Wis. Her maternal grandparents are the late William J. Thompson of Athens and Claire E. Thompson of Athens.
The groom-elect earned a bachelor’s degree in math and science from the University of Georgia-Athens in 1999 and a doctorate degree in chemistry from Columbia University in New York City in 2004. He works as a foreign liaison officer with the Ocean, Environment and Science Department in Washington, D.C.
The groom elect’s paternal grandparents are the late David L. Carter of Allenhurst, Barbara Carter of Allenhurst and Launa Seymore of Hinesville.
His maternal grandparents are the late Franklin J. Muncher of Hinesville and Elise E. Muncher of Hinesville.
The wedding is set for
5 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Fair Weather Farms in Monroe, Ga. Father Robert Salamone will officiate. The reception at Fair Weather Farms begins at 6 p.m.
