I remember very well a time in my life when there was an extreme weather event that impacted the lives of people in several states.
It left such an impact that I have a reminder in one of my passwords. If an event like this leaves a lasting impression, how much more should the time in our life where we decided to follow Jesus do so?
In the book of Acts we find the story of the conversion of Saul, who later became known as the Apostle Paul. At least a couple of times in his writings he referred back to this life changing event.
For instance, Acts 22:14-16 reads, "Then he (Ananias) said, ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know his will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of his mouth. For you will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard. And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’
For many, you can recall that time in your own life when things changed, where you experienced a time of transformation. You can go back to this event every time the devil tries to get you to doubt what Jesus has done for you. You can also, like the Apostle Paul, use that time as a verbal testimony to those who are seeking life change themselves.
Some of you don’t know what I am talking about; you have no lasting impression, because to you Jesus is just a person in history or one of the many crutches people lean on.
The good news is that God loves you so much that he gave Jesus so that each one of us can have forgiveness, peace and eternal life. Today, you can experience an impression event that will indeed be lasting.
