The other day, I glanced up at a sign at a business that read, “We all go somewhere, make sure you get there.”
Based on the type of business it was, I understand that they were saying that we all travel in our vehicles going somewhere, so we need to make sure that our automobiles will get us there safely.
As a pastor, and even as a Christian, it spoke yet another way to me. The truth of the matter is that at the end of our lives, we will all go somewhere. The Scripture says that there are only two destinations: heaven or hell. There is a way to make sure you get to heaven, which should be the destination of choice. The Scriptures teach that there is only one way to have that assurance that we end up there, and that is by choosing to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
The Christmas season ought to remind us of the reason Jesus came to Earth as a baby in a manger. It was to be a sacrifice for our sins and teach us how to live a life pleasing to God the Father.
The good news is that Jesus came to Earth to save sinners like you and me. The great news is that the invitation is given to all of us, no matter who we are or what we have done.
So the question of the day is, “Do you know where you are going?” The answer is, “You can.”
Do you know where you are going?
