Let the Lord help clean up life's mess

The other day, I helped cut someone’s backyard, mainly with a weed eater because the grass was too high for just a lawn mower.
In other words, the grass had gotten out of control. If it had been cut on a regular basis, the job would have been simple, but since it had not been maintained, it took hours to complete.
Sin is kind of like this. If not dealt with, it can take a person where he or she doesn’t want to go. It can spin a person’s life out of control. Sin even can destroy you to the point of taking your life. James 1:15 tells us that “sin, when it is full blown, brings forth death.”
The truth is that sin can and will be forgiven if we confess before God because of what Christ did on the cross. The word of God says that our sins will be remembered no more and will be separated from us as far as the east is from the west, meaning forever.
However, the thing we need to remember is that even though our sins have been forgiven, the earthly consequences still remain and have to be dealt with. Sometimes, this takes a whole life to try to clean up.
What do we need to do? If you are a follower of Christ, you need to trust in the power of God to keep you spiritually strong and deal with any sin immediately before it spirals out of control. If you are not a believer, then trust Christ today for forgiveness. Allow him to come into your life, give you the power to live a godly life and keep you from such a mess to clean up.
Even if you already have a mess, forgiveness is offered. The Lord will help you start cleaning up the mess.
