It’s been two years since the last retreat, and the ladies are ready.

They know that it will be a time of learning, fellowship and impartation.

Since 2006, the women of Pleasant Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church and many of their Christian sisters have retreated from Liberty County to an off-site location. Once again, the scenic D. Abbott Turner Lodge on St. Simons Island will host the retreat, scheduled for June 21-23.

“It is our prayer that you will come and fellowship with us. We truly believe that as we praise and worship our God, He will give us the release that we need in our spirit, mind, body and soul,” said the Rev. Debbie Morse, retreat coordinator and host.

This year’s theme is, “You Shall Recover All.” It is taken from 1 Samuel 30:7-8: “And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.”

The opening session will be at 7 p.m. June 21, with Apostle Dr. Paulette Olasoji of Abundant Life Ministries in Savannah. She will serve as the intercessory prayer leader and will speak on the topic, “Inquire of God — Should I Pursue.”

At 9 a.m. Friday, there will be intercessory prayer, followed by the session “Pursue — Go Get Your Stuff,” conducted by Morse. Another session, “You Shall Recover All,” will be held that afternoon by Apostle Dr. Verbertha Tillis of House of Joy, HOGSIC, of Thomasville.

Jessica Morse and Jennifer Morse, daughters of Pastor Morse, will conduct a session on Friday called “Sister Sister — Dealing with Real Issues.” This session is for young adults aged 16 years and older. At 7 p.m. Friday, Dr. Diane Curry of Mt. Zion Outreach Ministries in Glennville will be the featured speaker. She will wrap up the retreat on Saturday morning after prayer with the session The Plunder and Spoils.

For more information, call Morse at 925-5060, LaJeune Futrell at 368-5974 or Sharon Tazewell at 545-2012.

“Our evening service on Friday is open to men and women, but the workshops are for women only,” Morse said. “We hope that you will be able to join us for a powerful move of God.”
