You may be someone's only light
pastor corner

Just think about it; you may be the only person who someone may see Jesus through. There are a lot of people in this world who profess to be followers of Jesus Christ, but few exemplify it in their everyday lives.

A few years ago, I remember talking with a guy in the Army who became a Christian and he told me as far as he knew there wasn’t anyone in his group of soldiers who was a follower of Jesus.

I reminded him that he was to be a shining light to them.

Only God knows for sure, but you might be the only hope of someone in your office or in your class or in your neighborhood seeing what Jesus Christ can do in a person’s life. You might be the only Bible that someone may be reading.

Philippians 2:15 tells us to "be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world."

We need to ask the Holy Spirit to help us with our actions and the things we say so that others can see Jesus in us. The problem is that there are those who are searching for a better life and are looking for something that is genuine and real; they are looking for an example to follow.

We ought to be able to say what the Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:1, which is, "Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ."

So, the huge questions are, is your light shining brightly or is it shining at all?
