The American Cancer Society will host a series of I Can Cope programs for people with cancer and their families.
The programs are scheduled for Sept. 20, Nutrition During and After Cancer Treatment; Oct. 18, Exercise for Cancer Patients and Survivors and Nov. 8, Cancer Treatment and Side Effects. Each session is from noon-2 p.m. at the American Cancer Society office in Savannah.
The program lets participants share concerns with others having similar experiences and to learn ways to cope with the challenges from a cancer.
Guest speakers include a medical oncologist, social worker, dietician, and cancer survivors. The classes are free, but registration is required, as lunch will be provided.
