GeorgiaCares orientations set
Placeholder Image
Two free volunteer orientations will take place Nov. 7 at the Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center in downtown Brunswick at 127 F St.
The first one-hour orientation is at 1 p.m. and the second will begin at 6 p.m. in the first floor conference room. Registration is requested, but not required.
Community volunteers are needed for the GeorgiaCares program, especially at this time of year with the Medicare Annual Election Period happening November 15 - December 31. GeorgiaCares is a statewide program administered locally by the Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center’s Area Agency on Aging.
This program depends upon volunteers to assist staff in providing Medicare counseling, information regarding prescription assistance programs, lifelong planning strategies and healthcare consumer protection. The free training provided by GeorgiaCares staff is an excellent resource for Medicare beneficiaries or anyone trying to assist a friend or family member with Medicare or long-term care questions.
For more information about GeorgiaCares volunteer opportunities, call Kristin Doll at 1-800-669-8387 ext. 239.
