New Miss Ludowici crowned

LUDOWICI — The 2009 miss Ludowici was crowned recently during a pageant in the Long County High School cafeteria.
The reigning queen, Shelby Mock, 16, is the daughter of Andy and Kelli Mock. She also had the most sponsors and won the casual wear title.
First runner up was Kylie Angela Gaitten, 20, and second runner up was Elaine Barringer, 16. Barringer won the people’s choice crown, and Gaitten won the evening wear competition and the title of miss congeniality.
Gaitten is the daughter of Debbi and Mike Gaitten. Barringer is the daughter of Jason and Carol Smith.
In the junior miss Ludowici competition, Shelby Morgan Clark, 14, took home the crown. She also won best casual wear and best evening wear. She is the daughter of Pete and Becky Clark.
First runner up was Ashley Nicole Murphy, 14, daughter of Brian and Kim Murphy.
The little miss Ludowici crown went to Abigail Pitts, who also won the people’s choice award.  She is the daughter of Jacob and Candi Pitts.
Winning the toddler miss Crown was Railey Sheffield, daughter of Lee and Cindy Sheffield. The tiny miss crown went to Riley Parker, daughter of Leslie and Julie Crawford.
And closing out the winners was Caroline Crawford, who won the petite miss Ludowici title.
The emcees for the night were Danielle Denison and John McKnight of J & S Entertainment, which also provided music. Assisting in the presentation of the awards was 2004 Miss Ludowici, Jessica Chambless.
Judges were Deborah Winn-Smith of Jesup and Jennifer Duncan of McIntosh County. Pageant director was Debbi Gaitten. It was organized by Kelli Mock and Linda Futch. The sponsor was KIDZ-ETC.
“We want to thank all of the contestants, parents, sponsors, audience, tabulators, judges, emcee and the Town and Country Beauty and Floral Gift Shop for the support in today’s pageant,” Mock said.
