Recently, Team SCMPD competed against the Southside Fire Department in a hamburger-eating contest at Back Yard Burgers on Ogeechee Road in Savannah.
Precinct 4's officer Griff "Big Hungry" Coleman took the prize by eating six burgers in seven minutes and Daryl "Big Daddy" Cone ate a respectable 4-3/4 burgers.
The firefighters were never in the game since they were left in Big Hungry's wake.
As a result, Back Yard Burgers will donate $500 to The Two Hundred Club of The Coastal Empire in the name of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department.
The Two Hundred Club provides financial and other assistance to the families of public safety employees who are killed in the line of duty.
