Hinesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority invites everyone to its annual Go Red Bowling Tournament Sunday on Fort Stewart.

"Hinesville Alumnae Chapter plans and coordinates numerous community events designed to raise funds for national organizations like the American Heart Association, as well as the chapter’s scholarship fund," chapter President Petula Gomillion said.

The annual tournament has drawn more than 50 bowlers in the past. It is to raise awareness of heart disease in women.

"Old and new guests of the event can expect this year’s event to be just as exciting as the previous years, but the chapter has added a youth category to the event this year," Gomillion said.

Youth pay a reduced fee and can win trophies in two age categories, up to 12 and 13-19.

Chapter members will be there to answer questions about the chapter and its upcoming community events, including the chapter’s 30th anniversary celebration and its May Week activities. During the tournament door prizes will be given and information about protecting yourself from heart disease will be passed out.

The tournament will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Marne Lanes, 54 Steele Ave. on Fort Stewart. For more information, email Myra Caesar, coordinator, at caesardp@gmail.com. For more information about the sorority, go to www.hinesvillealumnae.com.
