Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

Liberty County Board of Education, why are we starting school on Aug. 5? It is extremely too hot for anybody. I remember it was after Labor Day that we started. We’ve got to stop letting people come in and change things we’ve already established.

Please, please will someone put in a chicken place in what used to be the Dollar Store in Midway.

To the caller calling about the kids going back so early. Remember they got out in the middle of May. So they had part of May, June and July and a week in August. That’s why they are going back so early.
Will someone tell me how the city of Hinesville can pay closing costs, but that there are restrictions. If they pay closing costs for one buyer of a new home, then they should pay for everybody, but not out of tax dollars. They should pay out of their own pockets, the mayor and city council.
