Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

To the caller who is always calling about the gates and being lined up to Hardee’s: My god man, don’t you know that the front gate is open 24/7? Why can’t you wrap your little pea brain around the fact that there is a lot of soldiers in here and it does take time to get through. You’re so impatient that it’s ignorant. It’s stupid. Stop being impatient.

What happens if you can’t pay your credit card bill and they get a judgment against you? Can they come get you and put you in jail or take stuff from you?

This is in reference to the report in the paper about a union. Unless you have belonged to a union, you do not recognize the benefits of it. I belonged to a union and I can assure you I had no problem with paying 4 percent because of what you get back and benefits and being sure that your interests are looked out is worth every penny of it. So, unless you’ve been part of a union, please, please continue to keep your thoughts to yourself. Thank you.

Liberty County has spent over a million and a half dollars on a piece of land at Cattle Hammock and lost the revenue they were collecting on it to build a boat ramp and there’s nothing been done. What is the problem? Does our county commissioners not know that we are losing tax revenue on that property?

Midway, Midway IGA, please keep your cell phones and your prices down because with the gas going up, we will have to shop here in Midway and we will have to go to church here with the prices what they are on fuel.

Yes, I’d like to say congratulations to the Riceboro Thunder and coach Andrew Jones for doing a great job with the kids and bringing another championship to the boys’ senior league at the Liberty County Recreation Department. What a great job you’ve done and thanks for bringing us two championships down.

The world is an uproar. The atmosphere is, too. One world government is coming and only the strong will survive. And each one that does survive is going to be done by prayer. So let’s just be kind to each other and heal the nation.
