Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch of their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

Look into the Bible under Leviticus 19:28. It says, “ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead nor print any marks upon you, I am the Lord.” It is saying tattoos are against God’s ways.

 Just to let everyone know, you have 180 feet in the turning lane, not 430 feet, before you are supposed to turn.

Dear DVA chaplain, the soldiers prayer is totally awesome. A retired Vietnam veteran.

Every member of the Liberty County Development Authority should resign.

I believe recycling is very important. But to see constantly trash in the bins is disgusting. This is not what good citizens do. And, please, sort your items before you put them in the bins.

I’ve been fighting fire in Liberty County for over 30 years. I’ve not got paid a cent. I give blood and sweat. I also don’t get paid for cutting grass up there. In regards to the Eastern District note in Friday’s paper, if you’ve got any questions, come on up Tuesday nights when we have fire drill.

Times are rough for everyone. So a thief, day or night, should be shot to death. That might make others stop and think. If you want it, work for it. Don’t take what someone honest has worked for.
