Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Well Hinesville, Liberty County, you didn’t do what I asked you to do. So now you’ve lost out on your water park. Savannah’s getting one. Aren’t you ashamed?

Thanks, Hinesville, it’s so nice to see our tax dollars being wasted on a transit system when the city is only two miles long and we’ve got so many potholes in the road that need to be fixed, and to see the water department getting a huge new building. Keep it up.

I agree with the caller about the past two months’ water bills. The bill has been inching up a little each month, then wham it doubled in one month. Checked for leaks, but there were none. Let’s see, salary raising and the water bills rising, any connection?

In times of economic hardship, I cannot believe the city council decided to spend $59,000 for a magazine. My hat is off to Keith Jenkins for voting against it.

With elections coming up, I hope everyone in Hinesville knows how their city council representatives voted to waste our taxes, such as raises for all of them and the mayor, and now a city magazine. They must think we’re all rich.

Midway residents that vote, please ask that we go to city hall or somewhere in the city to vote, instead of Fleming.
