Sound off for Sept. 2

Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Well, I thought that you couldn’t attack a person, but I noticed in Sound off today that everybody’s against Michelle Obama and she’s the first lady of these United States. Ordinary person? She’s not the ordinary. There’s something wrong with that.

I’m absolutely shocked that city council doesn’t think they’ve got the money to continue the much-needed bus system, when they just built a city hall that looks like a palace and then they go to the Sea Palms Resort for their planning meeting.

Cardiology therapy at Liberty Regional needs a bigger building. They have a lot of people and it’s a small building. Sandy Wells and Vicki and them are doing a wonderful job, but they need a bigger building.

To the caller in Sunday’s Coastal Courier who talked about a particular father who has no one to come see him, please give me a call at 912-610-6393.

This is to parents who have children who ride school buses in Liberty County. I am a driver and I would like to know if you realize that no buses have AC. The temperature inside the buses reaches as high as 105. Children get on the bus and when they get home, they’re soaked with sweat. The BoE built a new Bradwell stadium and bought the Brewton-Parker building. What about the saying, “It is all about the children?”

Our president is campaigning at our expense in two brand new buses, saying it’s official government business. How dishonest is this? They should have cut his expenses first, not Social Security or Medicare.
