Hey neighbors, I just wanted to let you know I just received one of those fake IRS calls, so be aware of them. Don’t get taken in.

Yesterday, I had lunch at Ole Times. People were laughing, speaking, talking and hugging each other. Very few smartphones were out. The men were sitting out on the front porch in the rocking chairs. The food was down-home cooking. I think Mama June is my new-found friend. Ole Times and Hinesville are a perfect fit. Just what the doctor ordered.

I’m a U.S. Army retired Vietnam veteran. I feel that any soldier that threw away his medals when he got back should have them removed from his record.
I was very disappointed in the drop box at the VFW for flags that are worn and need to be properly disposed of. The drop box was so full, you couldn’t open the top entry thing to put the flags in, and then the bottom door to remove the flags was pushed open about 4 to 6 inches, allowing the flags to get wet and all kind of debris to go in there to them. And that’s no way to show the proper respect for the flags. I think the VFW needs to make an improvement on their drop box.
