On Saturday, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Fort Morris State Historic Site will host a program, "Sunbury & the War Between the States."
Re-enactors from the 8th Georgia Infantry as well as the 25th Georgia Altamaha Scouts will demonstrate and interpret the life of a Civil War soldier in Sunbury on the eastern tip of Liberty County. Presented on the hour will be various demonstrations, including musket and cannon firing, drills and soldier talks.
Fort Morris is about seven miles east of I-95's exit 76. Follow the brown Liberty Trail signs via Islands Highway to find it.
