Vidalia native completes internship with first lady

Vidalia Comprehensive High School’s class of 2008 salutorian Eric Jones Jr. recently worked as a White House intern in First Lady Michelle Obama’s Office of Correspondence, where he helped ensure that the American people who wrote to her received timely and appropriate responses.
His spring-semester internship began Jan. 10 and concluded May 6.
A native of Vidalia, Jones is a junior at the University of Georgia, double-majoring in broadcast news and political science.
Before returning to UGA in the fall, he will intern this summer in New York City as an International Radio and Television Society Foundation fellow.
Upon graduating, Jones plans to pursue a career in television, hoping for his own show.
Jones is the son of Eric Jones Sr. and Tonya Jones of Vidalia and the grandson of Lueretha and Larry Stevens of Hinesville.
