Georgia taxpayers have until April 17, 2007, to file their 2006 personal income tax return and pay any taxes due, Georgia Commissioner of Revenue Bart L. Graham announced today.
“For taxpayer’s convenience, we want to give Georgia taxpayers the extra day to file their 2006 individual income tax return and pay any taxes due so as to coincide with the federal filing deadline of April 17,” Commissioner Graham said.
The extended filing date is due to April 15 falling on Sunday and the following day, Monday, April 16, being Emancipation Day, a legal holiday in Washington, D.C.
The extended filing deadline announcement came to late to be reflected on the state's previously printed 2006 tax filing forms. No attempt will be made to update any existing forms.
