Lynn Bennett, principal agent and owner of The Bennett Agency of Allstate Insurance in Hinesville, recently moved his business into a newly constructed building at 820 W. Oglethorpe Highway, west of Wal-Mart on Highway 84.
The Bennett Agency, which has served the area since May 1990, previously was in the Professional Eyecare Building at 556 W. Oglethorpe. The roomier new building is 1,400 square feet, and includes four offices, a reception area, a workroom, a kitchen and a bathroom.
"We decided to invest in a new office building in order to provide better facilities for our customers," Bennett said.
He also has added faster computers and additional staff.
Bennett said the building took three months to build, although a lot of planning was required before construction could begin. Richmond Hill builder Ricky Meguiar, an Allstate customer, served as the general contractor. Most of the subcontractors are Liberty County residents.
"The building is constructed in an arts and crafts style of architecture, and is intended to be very inviting and comfortable for our clients," Bennett said. "The site plan was designed to preserve a 200-year-old live oak tree in front of the building, as well as two other 150-year-old live oak trees on the property. The owner said customers have been impressed.
"Everybody who has seen it has been really impressed with the building, from the interior and exterior design to the ample parking and accessibility," Bennett said.
Also, the agency now offers Saturday hours from 9 a.m.-noon.
Bennett and his staff of Andy Bennett, Debbie Nessmith and Allison Bennett-Dyche offer all types of insurance, including auto, homeowners, flood and business. Registered representative Doug Perkins also is available for a full line of life insurance, retirement planning and investment services.
A grand opening celebration will be held in a few weeks.
