Interstate Credit Union, headquartered in Jesup, will open its newest office in Midway, on East Oglethorpe Highway, today. The new office, across from the Midway post office, was built by Howe Construction of Atlanta and is a full-service branch offering checking accounts, savings accounts, personal loans and home mortgage loans.
Stacie Branch, president of Interstate, said “We are excited to expand our market in Midway and look forward to helping new members in that area with their banking. We also feel this location will offer added convenience to our existing members who live or work in that part of Liberty County.” The Midway office will be Interstate Credit Union’s third location. The other offices are in Jesup and Baxley.
Interstate will have a grand opening “spring break” event today with hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks for everyone who attends. The credit union is having a grand prize drawing on that day to win five minutes at an Interstate ATM to withdraw as much cash as possible. Door prizes and gifts for new account holders also are planned.
Anyone who lives or works in Appling, Long, Liberty or Wayne counties may become a member of Interstate Credit Union and can open deposit accounts or apply for loans. Interstate Credit Union, which was started in 1968, is a nonprofit financial institution with assets of $39 million. Deposits are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration.
