FORSYTH — The Georgia Department of Corrections, in conjunction with the Georgia National Guard, will host several law-enforcement and public-safety agencies for a military personnel career fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the 1BCT, building 705, on Fort Stewart.
Current participating agencies include the GDC, Georgia National Guard, Department of Juvenile Justice, DeKalb County Police Department, Georgia Regents/Georgia Correctional Healthcare, Mental Health Management, DeKalb County Fire Rescue, Cobb County Department of Public Safety and Geo Group.
There will be more than 1,000 jobs available for military personnel returning from duty. The list of participating agencies is subject to change the day of the event. Go to dcor.state.ga.us for an updated list.
This event is free and open to active-duty and transitioning military personnel, guardsmen, reservists, veterans and civilians who register at http://adobe.ly/1oNgEgY or at GDCjobs.com.
“We are excited to be hosting our sixth military career fair of the year at Fort Stewart,” GDC Commissioner Brian Owens said. “Military veterans have the values and skills we are looking for in future employees, so it makes sense to seek them out by hosting these events.”
The GDC is the largest law-enforcement agency in the state with approximately 12,000 employees.
