Anna Chafin, director of marketing and research for the Liberty County Development Authority, has been named to the Leadership Georgia Class of 2010.
Chafin serves on the Georgia Economic Developers Association’s board of directors. She is chairwoman of the Leadership Southeast Georgia Alumni Association’s board of directors, and she is a member of the Middle Coastal Unified Development Authority’s marketing committee.
Leadership Georgia is a 37-year-old organization comprised of community and state leaders. Affiliated with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the class trains and builds a network of leaders from across the state. Past participants include state and national leaders such as U.S. Sen. Sam Nunn and University of Georgia Athletic Director Vince Dooley.
Sixty participants are selected each year from a pool of several hundred applicants. They visit five Georgia communities in an exchange of ideas and experiences about issues.
With a focus on growing a global Georgia, the class will travel to Brasstown Valley, Atlanta, Vidalia, Fort Gaines and Columbus.
