U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Ga., will sponsor a series of workshops during the open enrollment season for the Medicare Part D prescription drug program.
There will be a workshop from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Armstrong Center in Savannah, and another workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 9, at Savannah Tech in Hinesville.
Counselors will be available at the event to speak with participants one-on-one to discuss their Medicare options. Those who are enrolled or wish to enroll in the program must sign up or make changes during the open enrollment period, which begins Nov. 15 and ends Dec. 31.
Anyone eligible for this plan is encouraged to attend and bring with them a complete list of all prescriptions they are currently taking. To help expedite the process, participants are encouraged to bring their Medicare Card and fill out and bring the “Medicare Part D Enrollment Event Worksheet” that can be found at www.kingston.house.gov/PartD. Staff from Georgia Cares, a program of the Georgia Department of Human Resources and Division of Aging Services and Area Agencies on Aging, will also be on hand to answer questions.
