The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Thursday for Ng Photography at its studio located at 226 Old Sunbury Road in Flemington, next to the Davis House Tea Room and Bed and Breakfast.

Ng Photography is owned and operated by Joanna Ng, a Liberty County native, with the help of her husband, Steve Ng.

Ng said the proximity of her photo studio to Davis House allows people staying there or using it for a wedding or other event to have easy access to her professional photography services. Davis House owner Jackie Davis said she is excited by the new business partnership.

Chamber CEO Leah Poole and Flemington City Clerk/Manager Terri Willett welcomed Joanna Ng and her family to the Chamber and the city.
Along with community members were Ng’s family and friends, who came to congratulate her on opening her new studio.

Ng has always had a love for photography, but it wasn’t until her friend, who is a professional photographer, moved to the area when she began her official journey in photography.

“I always wanted to take pictures, but when (her friend) moved here, she offered a class, and I was able to follow her around,” said Ng. “She really challenged me to go beyond what I thought I could do.”

Now Ng has a studio where she can run her business and take in-house pictures, and she credits the Chamber for helping her begin the process.

“Because I joined the Chamber of Commerce, it set the ball in motion for everything to come about, and it grew from there,” she said. “I tell everybody, ‘have you joined the Chamber?’”

For Ng, the best part of photography is being able to capture a special moment for her clients.

“It’s like a time stamp,” she said.

Ng thanked her husband for always supporting her, her church family, New Day Community Church Pastor Richard Hayes for pushing her beyond her limits, her children and Poole and the Chamber staff members.

Ng is now taking appointments for Christmas minis and outdoor shoots and is available by appointment. The business can be reached at 912-271-5747, ng1photography.com or www.facebook.com/Joan naNgPhotography.
