Local business leaders and officials met again for another Progress Through People Luncheon earlier today. The luncheon featured the State of the County Address. Liberty County Commissioners Chairman Donald Lovette spoke on what makes a community poised for growth. He then shared stories from locals to show that Liberty is on course for growth. The end of Lovette’s speech was littered with the refrain, “We can’t stop” to express Liberty’s need for continual progress.

County Administrator Joey Brown talked about the proposed budget that will be adopted at the next commissioners meeting. He also gave updates on several construction projects, such as the new library, the animal control facility and widening of Highway 119 (Airport Road).

The event was hosted by the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce at the Performing Arts Center. Sybil’s Family Restaurant in Jesup catered the luncheon.
