VIP Office Furniture & Supply recently had a green mascot contest to promote green office products. This contest challenged high school students in Chatham and Liberty counties to create a mascot that embodied the importance of “going green.”
VIP’s first-place winner is Tatum Tingley from Catriona Schaefer’s class at Groves High School in Chatham County. Tingley’s design featured a colorful rendering of woodlands, mountains and horizons encapsulated within the outline of a bear. The design represents wildlife and the importance of Mother Nature, according to Tingley. “If we are not careful, it could vanish right before our eyes,” she said.
The second-place winner is Rashad Thomas from Ms. Bowen’s class at Liberty County High School. His design depicted brothers standing together to tell millions of others about recycling.
VIP is trying to help customers and staffers become more eco-friendly. The company made a commitment to offer customers environmentally friendly products and has started an on-site recycling program.
