Participants in the 2018-2019 Leadership Liberty class had a county government session Jan. 9, during their 9-month leadership development class.

Class participants met with leaders of the county commission, sheriff’s department, magistrate and probate courts, clerk of courts, tax commission, public works, recreation department and public safety; as well as the emergency management agency. They received a well-rounded tour and presentations on the many facets of county government structure and the impact on our community and its growth.

Leadership Liberty is an intense course for future leaders and local professionals, in which participants meet at least once per month and learn about various functions of the community to include: county government, city government, public health, public education, tourism and economic development.

Established in 1976, the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to support new and existing business, trade and industry within Liberty County, while increasing the cultural, civic, educational and overall quality of life of its citizens. The Chamber and its 500 members are committed to enhancing the local business climate and maintaining a high quality of life in the community.
