The University of Georgia welcomed its newest alumni on May 7 and 8. A total of 9,477 students - 6,537 spring undergraduates and 1,055 expected summer undergraduates along with 1,885 graduate students - met requirements to participate in the university’s spring commencement.

University of the Cumberlands
WILLIAMSBURG, KY - In recognition of academic performance, the Office of Academic Affairs at University of the Cumberlands has named Felicia Fisher of Hinesville to the Dean’s List for the spring 2026 semester.
To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours (a full course load), maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 for the semester, and be in good academic standing.
University of Alaska Fairbanks
FAIRBANKS, AK - The University of Alaska Fairbanks honored the Class of 2026 during its 104th commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 2, at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks.
This year, UAF conferred approximately 1,263 degrees on 1,102 students. Some students received more than one degree. The commencement ceremony included graduates from summer and fall 2025 and spring 2026.
Local graduates included: Oslyn Nixon of Hinesville - Bachelor of Arts, psychology Mckenzie Roberts of Ludowici - Associate of Arts, magna cum laude
SUNY Potsdam
POTSDAM, NY - Mariecheliz Mendez of Fort Stewart is set to graduate from SUNY Potsdam with a Master of Science in Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
The State University of New York at Potsdam will honor Mendez and the other candidates for graduation at Commencement 2026, on Saturday, May 16.
Bob Jones University
GREENVILLE, SC - Imani Pouncey, a sophomore multimedia journalism major from Ludowici, was among approximately 600 Bob Jones University students named to the spring 2026 Dean’s List.
