The Seabrook Village Foundation is hosting its first annual meeting under their new leadership. It will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. followed by a cleanup from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This will be an opportunity for people to volunteer and learn about our plans for the site. Walthourville’s Police Department will host Breast Cancer Breakfast “No One Fights Alone” at the Walthourville Police Department on October 1 2022, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Breakfast will be served. Admission is free for all.
The event supports the fighters, admires the survivors, honors the taken and is about never giving up hope. It will be held at Walthourville Police Department. Follow the event details on Walthourville Police Facebook page.

The Liberty Health Department will begin offering flu vaccine on Monday, October 3. The vaccine will be available by appointment during regular hours of operation, Monday through Friday. Residents can call the health department at (912) 876-2173 to schedule an appointment. The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone over 6 months of age. Vaccination is particularly important for those at high risk of complications from flu, including adults 65 and older, children younger than 5, pregnant women, people with weakened immune systems, and people with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease. The Liberty County Health Department and Liberty Regional Medical Center are partnering to hold two screening events during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The health department will offer free clinical breast exams – by appointment – from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5 for women who meet certain eligibility guidelines. After an initial screening at the health department, the women can then go directly to Liberty Regional for a mammogram.
Women who meet certain annual income guidelines and are 40-64 years of age without insurance will be eligible to receive a screening mammogram at no cost as part of the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP). BCCP provides access to breast and cervical cancer screening for women who may not otherwise have the means to access such services. Bethel AME Church Citizens Relying on Spiritual Servants (CROSS) C.R.O.S.S., in conjunction with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Savannah, is open to those in need on the fourth Saturday of every month. Food bags will be given out from 9-11 a.m.
C.R.O.S.S. has a clothing ministry giveaway on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. The ministry is open from 8-11 a.m. School uniforms are also available.
