Three Bradwell Institute advanced-chorus students recently participated in the all-state chorus in Athens.
The students had to pass a series of auditions to attend the Georgia Music Educators Association event.
After passing the auditions, students were assigned to sing in an honor chorus with a renowned guest conductor.
Meanwhile, the Bradwell advanced women’s chorus and advanced mixed chorus participated in GMEA’s large-group performance evaluation.
During the performance, the students sang two contrasting selections and sight read for a panel of judges.
Bradwell’s advanced women’s chorus earned a rating of all superiors, while the school’s advanced mixed chorus received an overall score of superior.
Additionally, students from the Bradwell chorus recently competed in the Georgia High School Association’s Literary Meet for Region V.
The Bradwell boys’ quartet won the meet, while the girls’ soloist placed third and the trio team placed fourth.
The boys’ quartet wowed the audience and judges with “Vive l’ amour,” arranged by Robert Shaw, and “Make them Hear You,” arranged by Jeff Funk from Ragtime the Musical.
The quartet went on to compete in the state competition, where they placed seventh.
