The gym at Midway Middle School was bustling with activity on Oct. 13, as approximately 400 people participated in “CSI: Midway — Curriculum Scene Investigation.”
This year the theme was based on the TV series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” Decorations included crime scene tape and footprints. Students and families moved from station to station to complete challenges and fill fingerprint cards.
The science activities had the students using microscopes to indentify organisms and used ordinary household products to lift finger and shoe prints.
Math activities included a challenge to find the fittest recruit where students graphed the number of jumping jacks they completed in one minute. They next measured the distance between evidence markers and did measurement conversions.
Students practiced their map skills to find distances and directions.
MMS’s most wanted were sketched and images compared at the “Sketchy Characters” booth.
