Parents help students with math skills

Lyman Hall Elementary had its annual Math-A-Rama event Oct. 14. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade worked with teachers on grade-level activities in their classrooms. Parents attended and were provided instruction by elementary curriculum specialist Susan Norce in techniques and activities to enhance their children’s mathematical knowledge using everyday objects and experiences.
The instruction period was followed by a question-and-answer session. Child care was provided for toddlers, which allowed parents to participate in the mini-training session.
Math-A-Rama was organized by Lavonia LeCounte, Lyman Hall’s parent involvement facilitator.
