School honors Hinesville veteran

The newly formed Thomas University chapter of the SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society inducted its first members during an April 15 ceremony in the Balfour Chapel on TU’s main campus. Hinesville native Donald Harris was among the 27 inductees.
In order to be inducted into SALUTE, a student must be an honorably discharged military veteran with a grade-point average of at least 3.0.
Harris served eight years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He will graduate in May with a Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory science.
Thomas University, established in 1950, is a private college of about 1,000 students in Thomasville, Ga. TU offers degrees in traditional classroom settings and through online courses.
