Button-Gwinnett Elementary School recently celebrated National Children’s Book Week.
Among their activities was a book-character parade, allowing students to dress up as characters from their favorite books.
Also storyteller Toppy Johns paid a visit to students at Joseph Martin Elementary. Johns travels all over Georgia doing magic and puppet shows, talking to children about the importance of reading.
“I love to read. If there are wors, I have to read them,” Johns said. For one of his magic tricks, he had children put their piece of material into the bag, and when he pulled the material out, it had magically turned into one big piece.
