Teacher honored for how she uses technology

Beverly Banks
The Liberty County Technology Office has begun a new program wherein its staff is recognizing teachers for their use of technology in their classrooms.
Beverly Banks was the teacher selected at the elementary level for the month of August.
The tech office is looking to see if the teacher use technology in a variety of settings — cooperative groups, individuals, small groups and the whole class. Other criteria are if the teacher is using technology as tool for differentiation and if teachers are using numerous technology tools to enhance the curriculum.
Teachers also are expected to allow students to take ownership of the technology to create/complete tasks, as well as assess for learning using technology. The office also wanted to know how often a teacher integrates technology in the instructional day.
Scott Carrier, FLE principle, also was involved in Banks’ nomination.
