Every Heart Matters 5K slated for May 11

The City of Hinesville is teaming up with WomenHeart Hinesville, Liberty County School System and Liberty Regional Medical Center to host the WomenHeart Hinesville “Every Heart Matters” 5K and health fair from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at Bryant Commons Park.

WomenHeart: the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease was founded in 1999 by three survivors of heart disease – Nancy Loving, Jackie Markham and Judy Mingram. Each had a heart attack in their 40s and underwent significant rehabilitation afterwards. The organization was founded with the intention to educate women about the dangers of heart disease. Additionally, WomenHeart provides support to women diagnosed with heart disease through a series of local chapters headed by recovering/recovered patients. 

The WomenHeart Hinesville “Every Heart Matters” 5K is a collaborative effort between several entities in the city of Hinesville to promote health living in our community. Register online at:

The registration fee schedule is as follows:

Online Registration (Feb. 11-April 19)

Registration only (no T-shirt): $5/runner 

Registration fee and T-shirt: $15/runner

Online Registration (April 10 – May 3)

Registration only (no T-shirt): $15

Late Online Registration (May 4-8)

Registration only (no T-shirt guaranteed): $20

Day-of registration (May 11) - will be cash only and will take place in front of the horse barn. Registration fee: $25/runner

Please note, the T-shirt deadline for this race is Friday, April 19, at 11:59 p.m. Registration prices do not include online processing fees. After the T-shirt deadline has passed, participants who register will not be guaranteed a T-shirt. Extra shirts will be available on a “first come, first served” basis for participants who registered outside of the deadline during early and day-of packet pickup. 

Early packet pickup will be from 5-7 p.m. at the Liberty County Board of Education. Race day registration and packet pickup will begin at 6:45-7:40 a.m. in front of the stables and will be cash only.

The race will begin at 8 a.m. and the health fair will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 11 a.m. 

Awards will be given for the top three overall finishers of the 5k at 9:30 a.m. at the amphitheater.

This event serves as a kickoff to the City of Hinesville’s Healthy Hinesville initiative, which will feature events and programs focused on promoting health and wellness for Hinesville residents. Healthy Hinesville will host several events throughout the year, including 5Ks, scavenger hunts and other activities designed to get residents outside and active. A calendar of events will be published on the City of Hinesville website by Monday, April 1.
