Fire displaces a family of four

A fire Tuesday evening damaged the home of a family of four, according to Liberty County Services Fire Chief Brian Darby. The blaze at the 300 block of Jericho Drive in Midway has temporarily displaced the family, Darby said.

Darby said that when firefighters from Liberty County Fire Services and Midway Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department arrived they encountered smoke and flames from a rear corner of the home.

Darby said they were able to extinguish the flames within eight minutes saving the home.

The family, a couple with their two kids, were able to exit the home with no injuries.

The fire is under investigation and no foul play is suspected, according to Darby.
