DARIEN - Southeastern Banking Corporation (OTCID:SEBC; “Company”) and its wholly-owned subsidiary Southeastern Bank (“Bank”) jointly announce the appointment of Charles M. “Chuck” Gaskin Jr. to serve on both the company and bank board of directors.
“With our recent expansion into Liberty County, we sought to add to our boards a local business owner whose values, integrity, and commitment to community align with our own. Chuck Gaskin checks all those boxes for us. His knowledge of our markets and strong business acumen will prove beneficial to our Boards. We look forward to working with him,” said President and CEO Jay Torbert.
In 1999, Mr. Gaskin along with his late father, Charlie, established the renowned Dorchester Shooting Preserve, a 3,000-acre hunting and fishing preserve with a lodge, overnight accommodations and event space in Liberty County, which he continues to operate.
He is also on the board of Coastal Electric Cooperative with service in Bryan, Liberty, Long and McIntosh counties.
Gaskin is an active member of Compassion Christian Church in Midway and a director of both Priority Insight Ministries and Five Stones Counseling Center.
He and his wife, Tina, reside along the South Newport River in McIntosh County.
