Health department changing hours

The hours at the Liberty County Health Department and Fort Stewart Women, Infant and Children clinic will change beginning July 1.

Officials say they hope the changes make it more convenient for clients to come in for services. 

The health department, 1113 E .Oglethorpe Hwy. in Flemington, hours of operation will be:

• 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

• 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday

• 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday

The new Fort Stewart WIC clinic, 441 W. Bultman Ave., hours will be:

• 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

• 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday

• 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday

Health department services include child and adult immunizations, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, family planning services, child health services, breast and cervical cancer program (BCCP) and more. 

WIC provides foods, nutrition education and improved healthcare access for low- and moderate-income women and children at risk of developing nutrition related health problems.
