According to the Hinesville Police Department an arrest has been made for Donnell Bernard Mention,17 for murder in connection with the death of Janarick Reed.

Mention turned himself in to HPD police after a be-on-the-look-out notice was shared online.

HPD is still searching for Stephon Markel Whitaker,18 another person of interest in Reed’s death.

Reed was shot on Aug. 25, in Hinesville and died of his wounds a short time later. Anyone knowing the location of Whitaker or having information on the case is asked to call the Hinesville Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division at 912-368-8215 or their local 911 center. Whitaker is considered armed and dangerous.
