I-95 ramp at Savnanah to close for work

The southbound exit off I-95 into Savannah’s Southside will be closed Wednesday night-Thursday morning for construction.
The Department of Transportation announced that the ramp off the southbound lanes onto Abercorn Extension will be closed from 7 p.m., Wednesday to 7 a.m., Thursday and it is recommending motorists detour through Richmond Hill.
So, if you’re headed into Savannah that night, expect abnormal traffic patterns, even though the north-bound lanes of I-95 are not expected to be changed. There will be increased traffic through Richmond Hill, up Highway 17 and where 17 meets 204/Abercorn.
The closure is being done so the southbound ramps can be repaved.
Georgia DOT urges travelers to call 511 for updated information about this or any other construction projects. More information is available at www.511ga.org.
