LCRD brings home nine gold medals from GRPA state track meet
County-LCRD state champs
Liberty County commissioners congratulate some of the Liberty County Recreation Department's first-place winners at the GRPA state track meet.

The Liberty County Recreation Department fielded nine state champions at the recent Georgia Recreation and Parks Association Class A state track meet in Stockbridge.

The LCRD also had 15 runners-up and nine third-place finishes from its contingent of 60 athletes.

Winning state championships were:

Tristan McDonald – 10U shot put

Tristen Green – 12U high jump

Josiah Triplett – 14U high jump

Shaun Cuffield - 14U standing long jump

Georgia McGruder – softball throw

Sarah Washington – standing long jump

4x100 8U girls relay team (Kamille McCord, Camila Rockel, Harmony Roberts, Autumn Thomas Campbell)

4x100 14U boys relay team (Juwarren Price, Brieon Richardson, Shaun Cuffield, Josiah Triplett)

4x400 8U girls relay team (Hazel Caddell, Autumn Thomas Campbell, Camila Rockel, Harmony Roberts)

Taking runner-up finishes were:

Alexandrea Coletti – 1,600

Indajani Garcia Ramos – 3,200

Brieon Richardson – high jump

Bailey McIntosh – softball throw and javelin

Amri Johnson – javelin

Kaiden Miller – 80-meter hurdles

Treasure McLemore - high jump and 100-meter hurdles

Georgia McGruder – 400

Hazel Caddell – 800

Imara Mosely – high jump

Calvin Smith Jr. – high jump

Sarah Washington – high jump

4x400 14U boys relay team (Juwarren Price, Shaun Cuffield, Josiah Triplett, Brieon Richardson)

Getting third-place finishes were:

Jalayshia Boyd – 80m hurdles

Avery Williams – 400.

Josiah Triplett – 100

Autumn Thomas Campbell – 800

Alijah Perry – softball throw, standing long jump

Georgia McGruder – standing long jump

Kaiden Miller – standing long jump, high jump

Overall, the girls were third and the boys were fourth behind champions DeKalb County and the City of Atlanta.

The LCRD also extended appreciation to the volunteer coaches.
