Hinesville City Council recently honored the coaches and players from the First Preparatory Christian Academy boys basketball team, which claimed a second consecutive GIAA Class A state championship.

The Highlanders beat Citizens Christian Academy 76-49 at Columbus State University’s Lumpkin Center for the 2025-26 state basketball championship.

Five members of the team were named to the GIAA Class A all-state first team.

Coach Shane Smith also vowed to make it three in a row next year.
