Liberty grad accepts position at Vanderbilt

Dr. Kristyl D. Tift has accepted the position of Assistant Professor of Acting and Directing at Vanderbilt University. According to the Chair of the Department, Phillip Frank, Tift’s appointment will begin Aug. 16, 2020.

Tift holds a PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Georgia, an MFA in Acting from The New School, and a BA in Theatre from Georgia Southern University. Tift graduated from Liberty County High School in 2000 where she served as drum major of the Panther Band and performed in chorus and drama club.

Tift appeared in an episode of Tyler Perry’s The Oval, last week which airs on BET. She has appeared in Greenleaf (2016), Hall Pass (2011) and One Tree Hill (2003).

She is the daughter of Mr. Charles E. Tift and Dr. Deidré C. Tift of Hinesville.
