Hinesville American Legion Auxiliary recently visited the residents in the Woodland Health Care Nursing Home in Midway.

The Auxiliary gave out goodie bags consisting of cookies, socks and juice to 115 residents. Auxiliary members Anet Owens, Kay Hendrix, Roxie Duncan, Anneliese Knapp and Sandra Nalley, along with Legion Riders Larry Parker and Tony Coleman helped fix the 115 goodie bags. Auxiliary member Joann Seward and Legion Rider John Seward met the others at the nursing home.

“The visit to the nursing home is just a small token of our love to others that are less fortunate,” ALA President Anet Owens said. “The residents are so appreciative. As always, the visits to the nursing homes are very rewarding.”

At this year’s July 4th celebration on Fort Stewart, Auxiliary members Anneliese Knapp, Roxie Duncan and Anet Owens helped serve food to  military members and their families for about a six-hour shift.
