A groundbreaking is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tradeport East for Liberty Regional Medical Associates Primary Care’s Midway Campus.
The new clinic is set to open in May.
The Midway office will provide a full diagnostic x-ray suite and employ a physician and nurse practitioner, according to a press release from Liberty Regional Medical Center.
Physician specialists will also rotate through the facility, the release said.
The office is scheduled to open in May 2018 and will provide greater access to care for residents of the east end of Liberty County and surrounding communities, according to LRMC.
The Midway campus also will work with industries “to provide occupational and other health services for workforce,” a press release said.
“With the support of our Liberty County residents through the SPLOST vote, our County Commissioners and Hospital Authority Board, the vision of the Midway Primary Care has become a reality,” the release said.
Voters in November 2016 approved $800,000 of the most recent SPLOST for the clinic.
