Hinesville suffering IT outage
City's servers, computers and phones impacted

Hinesville municipal services have been slowed or shut down by an IT outage that “has impacted servers, computers and telephones,” according to officials.

City Manager Kenneth Howard said that despite “multiple levels of redundancy to protect against outages of this magnitude,” this is the first time “a problem of this nature has occurred,” in a press release sent by cell phone Tuesday from the city’s PR manager, Brittany Denny.

“We are in the process of investigating the problem as well as solutions and I have full confidence in my team to get us up and running, even if it is under less than ideal circumstances,” Howard said.

The outage has impacted the city’s ability to receive payments, job applications and more. There is no timeline for the restoration of services, “as IT works to identify the scope of the outage and more information will be released Wednesday morning.”
